Curriculum vitae

Matteo Weber, born in Aalen in 2002, received his first piano lessons at the age of four. He has been taught by Prof. Fedele Antonicelli since 2013. In the summer semester 2019 he began his studies with Prof. Sontraud Speidel at the University of Music Karlsruhe.

He successfully took part in numerous competitions. At the national level in 2015 he was awarded the 1st prize at the National Bach Competition for Young Pianists in Köthen. In 2016 he was awarded the main prize of the marble key for the piano talent of the year as part of the 16th Munich International Piano Podium. In 2017 Matteo Weber  has been awarded first prizes at the international GROTRIAN STEINWEG piano playing competition and at the national competition of  Jugend musiziert. He received another 1st prize in 2018 at the 13th International Piano Competition Youth in Essen.
In 2019, the 1st prize at the international piano competition for young pianists Art and Peace in Hammelburg  followed. In 2020 he won first prize in the online competition “EUPLAYY” under the patronage of Martha Argerich.

Matteo regularly plays piano recitals and performs as a soloist in various piano concertos. He celebrated great success with his first recitals in Italy and France. He participated master classes with Prof. Marisa Somma, Bari, Prof. Bernd Glemser, Würzburg, Prof. Konrad Elser, Lübeck and Fernando Viani, Bern. Matteo is a fellow of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Live Music Now and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
